Many display typefaces emphasize novelty but lack structure, limiting their usability in real design contexts.

The challenge was to design a typeface expressive enough to be used for editorial or branding work but disciplined enough to remain intentional across a full character set.

I designed Otis, a geometric modular display typeface built in Glyphs Mini. Inspired by 1970s geometric typography, the letterforms combine simple shapes, exaggerated proportions, and unexpected cutouts to create rhythm and personality.

Otis fills the gap between generic display fonts and expensive custom type, offering a distinctive voice that balances playfulness with structure, making it a bold display typeface suitable for expressive editorial and branding applications.
